Hyatt Place Indianapolis frees up staff time to focus on guests.

Indianapolis is best known for fast cars, renowned events, museums, parks, and a thriving culinary scene. In spring 2019, Hyatt Place opened in the heart of downtown Indy, offering visitors 15 floors filled with sleeping rooms, a 24/7 market, bar and balcony, and more than 3,000 square feet of versatile meeting space.

Last year, Hyatt Hotels Corporation revamped the Hyatt Place brand to focus on the guest experience, with an emphasis on well-being, dining, and technology. To meet the Indy hotel’s technology needs, the management team selected JANUS (by Uniguest) to provide digital signage solutions to engage and inform their guests while onsite. 

The goal of their digital transformation project was two-fold: to help guests easily find their way around the hotel, and to feature meeting information that worked seamlessly with their back-end event management software. It was also essential for the solution to be automated instead of relying on manual data entry by hotel and event staff. Ultimately, they hoped to free up their team so they could spend more time assisting guests versus managing a cumbersome system and time-intensive process.

Seamless CMS Communication with In-House Event-Management System

The JANUS team implemented their cloud-based content management software, which communicates seamlessly with the Hyatt Place event-management system. Allowing the displays to automatically update with the hotel’s event and meeting information and wayfinding maps keeps guests and conference attendees up to date with rapidly changing event schedules throughout the day.

The design team also created impactful graphics that reflected the Hyatt Place brand and location, and worked alongside Hyatt’s management team to customize display frames to match the interior of the hotel.

Additionally, the team installed two large, interactive reader boards on the ground and second level so guests could find their way around the hotel, along with four reader boards outside each of the meeting rooms to display the room name and function.
